| Anecdote* | | Leonard joined the Royal Marines in 1936 and served on HMS Arc Royal and HMS Barham as an anti aircraft gunner. He was torpedoed on the Barham by uboat U331. He transferred from the Marines in Jan 1946 to join the Royal Navy. After he left the Navy he spent the rest of his working life working for Cunard on the Queen Mary and later the QE2. |
