I give and bequeath to my dear sister Margaret Bates the sum of ten pounds sterling

* and my enamelled snuff box I give and bequeath to my dear sister Elizabeth Elis ten pounds sterling
* I give and bequeath to Mrs Pinckney now living at the sign of the Oil Jar on College Hill one guinea for a ring
* I give and bequeath to Mrs Kingman now living in the corner shop of my house one guinea for a ring
* I give and bequeath to my dear son Joseph Pinckney all my wearing apparel as well linen as woollen and also all my books and my garnet ring and tobacco box
* I give and bequeath to my dear sister Ann Pinckney and my son Joseph Pinckney all my household goods stock in trade plate china glass and money whatsoever and where so ever together with the lease of my house for the form? of years I shall then leave to come in it to be equally divided betwixt them and I desire that when it shall please God to take me from this life to him that the trade of my house may be carried on by my son Joseph Pinckney and sister Ann Pinckney the profits of which may arise therefrom to be equally divided betwixt them during the term of said lease has to come but if it should please God that either of them should die the next surviving to continue it or lett it for his or her own profit

* 31st August 1757 Robert Pinckney 10th February 1759 Which day appeared personally Joseph Pinckney of the Parish of Saint Michael Cornhill London Coffeeman and Edward Bates of the Parish of Saint George the Martyr in the County Middlesex Tallow Chandler Executors named in the last and testament of Robert Pinckney late of the Parish of Saint Michael Cornhill London aforesaid Coffeeman deceased who being sworn on the holy Evangelists to depose the truth did depose and say as follows / to wit / that those deponents soon after the deceased death on searching his Beaureau at his house known by the name of Johns’ Coffeehouse they found the last will and testament of the said Robert Pinckney deceased hereunto annexed beginning thus:
- In the name of God Amen I Rob't Pinckney of London Coffeeman being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain my last will and testament in manner following - and ending thus * I give and bequeath unto my dear Brother Edw'd Bates the sum of five pounds sterling as a small token for the trouble he may have after my decease 5- and thus dated - 31st August 1757 - and thus subscribed - Robert Pinckney - in the very form and condition the same now is with the several obliterations and interlineations now appearing thereon and these deponents say that the same has received no manner of alteration since the said deceased’s death either by obliteration interlineation or otherwise as these deponents knows or believes but is in the same plight and condition as when they found the same - Joseph Pinckney - Edw. Bates - Same day the said Joseph Pinckney and Edward Bates were sworn to the truth of the above written affidavit before me And. Coltee? Ducarel Surrogate present Rich. Cheslyn Notary Publick The 10th day of February 1759 Which day appeared personally William Bottsworth of the Parish of Saint Sepulchre London Victualler and Thomas Fielding of the Parish of Saint Michael Cornhill London Coffeeman who being sworn on the holy Evangelists to dispose the truth did despose and say as follows (to wit) that they these deponents respectively know and were very well acquainted with Robert Pinckney late of the Parish of Saint Michael Cornhill London aforesaid deceased for several years before and to the time of his death and during such their knowledge and acquaintance with him have often seen him write and subscribe his name by which means they became well acquainted with his manner and character of hand writing and subscription and having now carefully viewed and perused the paper writing hereunto annexed purporting to be the last will and testament of the said deceased beginning thus - in the name of God Amen I Rob't Pinckney of London Coffeeman being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain my last will and testament in manner following - and ending thus - I give and bequeath to my dear Brother Edw'd Bates the sum of five pounds sterling as a small token for the trouble he may have after my decease 5- and thus dated - 31st August 1757 - they verily and in their C? believe the whole body and series of the said will and subscription thereto made to be totally wrote and subscribed by and with the proper hand writing and subscription of the said Robert Pinckney deceased - Will'm Bettsworth - Tho's Fielding - same day the said William Bettsworth and Thomas Ffielding were sworn to the truth of the above written affidavit before me - And.
