(Witness) Event-Misc | 12 Feb 1753 | William Pinckney was mentioned when Joseph Pinckney was the subject of an Order of Removal. Upon the appeal of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish of Bawtry in the said Riding against an Order under the hands and seals of William Wrighton and John R Battie Esquires, two of his Majestys Justices of the peace for the said Riding. Hearing date the twelfth day of February last past made for the Removal of Ann Pinkney aged about 5 years John Pinkney aged about 3 years & William Pinkney aged about 2 years, children of Joseph Pinkney by Mary his wife late of Bawtry aforesaid from the parish of Tickhill in the said Riding to the parish of Bawtry aforesaid. It is ordred that the said Order of Removal be discharged, the said Joseph Pinkney not being removed with his said children nor the place of his Settlement adjudged in or by the said Order of Removal. And it is farther ordered that the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of Tickhill aforesaid do on notice of this Order pay or cause to be paid unto the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of Bawtry aforesaid One pound and sixteen Shillings for Damages etc. sustained in maintaining the partys removed pending the said Order of Removal. on 12 Feb 1753 at Tickhill, Wakefield, England, . |
(Witness) Reference | 3 Apr 1755 | William Pinckney was referred to in Poor Law Records Westminster; Joseph Pinkney aged abt 36 years upon Oath Saith he was married to his wife Mary at Bawtry in the County of York on the 26th Dec 1746 Old Style by whom he has 4 Children / Johnaged 5 years or thereabouts Wm aged abt. 4 years Geo aged abt. 2 years and Eliz aged abt. 18 weeks and that he rented a house of the yearly Rent of £10 in Ship Yard in the parish of St. Clement Danes in the Liberty of Westminster. Lived therein abt. three months & quitted the same about 4 years ago and that he has not since Rented (a house) of the yearly of Ten pounds ?? parish Taxes Sworn April 3d 1755 Jos Pinkney with Joseph Pinckney on 3 Apr 1755. |
