Students of Oxford and Cambridge Universities
Many of our illustrious ancestors were educated at Oxford and Cambridge, known collectively as 'Oxbridge'. Many documents, books and charts state that so and so matriculated from this or that college in Oxford or Cambridge so I thought it would be a good idea to check all these claims and put them all together on a single page.

There are books which list everyone who has attended these universities. The Oxford book is called Foster's Alumni Oxonienses and the Cambridge equivalent is called Alumni Cantabrigienses compiled by J.A.Venn.

I have managed to get the Cambridge details online and the Oxford ones have very kindly been sent to me by the Oxford University Archives. There are two volumes of the Oxford Alumni; 1500 - 1714 and 1715 - 1886. After that they are available on a card index up to 1932.

What follows is the details contained in those pages along with links to the individuals concerned.
